The strangest thing to define and so different for everyone! For me, unless I'm inspired by something I find it very difficult to get it down on paper and it strikes at the strangest times! For example, some time ago I was watching the latest series of All Creatures Great And Small and one scene, with 'Helen' sitting lamplit in a cottage just moved me to freeze frame, photo the screen and then get out my pastels. You can see the result under the 'People' section in my gallery.
I'm currently sitting in a rented flat overlooking the harbour in beautiful Tenby, West Wales. The scene here and those throughout this picturesque town have inspired thousands of artists over the years but how to paint something different? That's the eternal question. Trusty camera to the ready, I'm going to head out and try to capture the illusive different scene. Watch this space!
