Any creative person finds their own means of expression.  I have mainly been painting from photographs - the more detailed and sharp the better but I can't pretend to know anything about the process of photography.  There is a wonderful 'group' on Facebook called 'Free Reference Photos For Artists' on which generous photographers from all around the world, share their images and allow them to be painted or rendered in whatever media is desired.  All they ask is perhaps a credit on the final artwork.      I have used many of these images but I must admit to preferring to use my own photographs when possible.

It occurred to me recently that some of  my photographs (by happy chance rather than skill) were actually worth looking at in themselves and so I have decided to include some here.  Please bear with me as they do take time to upload but here are some of my favourite captures of the natural world.
